Lake Mojave 6 Mile Cove Camping

Lake Mojave’s 6 mile Cove is a great place to go camping, swimming and have fun on Lake Mojave. You can park on the lake, and pitch a tent, and have a camp fire directly on the water. That’s what we call living the high-life of desert camping. Fact, shoreline camping isn’t very plentiful at Lake Mohave, but it does exist in a couple areas, and Six Mile Cove is one of them.

How to find it and get to Lake Mojave Six Mile Cove? Find the road to Cottonwood Cove Resort, about 6 miles east of Searchlight, NV you will find a dirt “power line” road that peels off right to the southeast. Go down that road about 1/2mi to another dirt road that heads to the left, east toward the lake. About 6 miles down that road you’ll find this quiet primitive camping area at the lake’s edge. Really a great location, bring a boat, kayak, air mattress, something to float on the lake with. Note, you have to pay the Lake Mead National Recreation Park fees of $20.00 per car to enter, but the camp sites are free.

Nearby is Cottonwood Cove Resort & Marina and is located in the middle of 67-mile-long Lake Mohave, making it a central hub for leisure and relaxation in the desert. Just 45 minutes north of Laughlin and one hour south of Las Vegas, Cottonwood Cove has the convenience of location and amenities for family vacations, getaways with friends, or large group functions such as private parties or corporate events.
